An assortment of web design, brochures, logos and identity, photo-illustration, and other work done for a variety of clients.
Wisconsin River Bank website
With branches located throughout south-central Wisconsin, Wisconsin River Bank has been serving the financial needs of clients large and small for 25 years.
Like many small- and medium-sized businesses, Wisconsin River Bank’s previous website had been built several years earlier on a standard HTML framework, with outdated design and function.
Arcus Communication Design designed, implemented, and delivered a self-sufficient and secure website, with a fresh new mobile-ready design. We also took the opportunity to add multiple new pages of information helpful to their core customer base.
Meicher CPAs website
Arcus Communication Design recently launched a new website for Middleton, Wisconsin tax and accounting firm Meicher CPAs, LLP.
Meicher CPAs serves over 4,000 clients and offers a full range of tax and accounting services. With extensive experience in a variety of financial services and offering a dynamic workplace, Meicher CPAs was recently a finalist for In Business Magazine’s “Best Companies to Work For, 2015.”
When Meicher CPAs wanted to raise the stature of their business website, Arcus Communication Design provided an affordable and timely solution. Using their revised logo and corporate colors, Arcus migrated Meicher CPAs‘ existing site content to a new WordPress-based website framework with a fresh, compelling new outlook.
This design, bundled with one of our Active Website Support plans, will continue to grow as Meicher CPAs does.

DuWayne’s Salon website
A Madison fixture since 1979, DuWayne’s Salon offers personalized hair styling, nail care services, indoor tanning, permanent makeup, and other personal services.
DuWayne’s also offers the latest quality hair care products for his customers, and contributes to a variety of community benefits.
Eight stylists/technicians and six support team members work in the shop.
DuWayne’s Professional Building is evolving into a health and wellness center. The center currently includes massage, yoga, a psychiatric group and a soon to be added electrolysis and eyeliner tattooing artist.
The new website offers mobile-ready access to DuWayne’s clientele, and includes online reservation booking, social media feed, and more.
K & N Exteriors website
K & N Exteriors had a modest existing website but was quickly outgrowing it. Built several years ago on a generic small-business template system, the site was neither flexible nor easily expandable, and the client was unable to edit his own pages or add photos.
Our new UpStart Silver website bundle was an obvious place to start. In addition to a homepage slideshow featuring seasonal specialities, several pages where the business-owner can describe his variety of services, testimonials from his previous customers, we also built several custom photo galleries where the business can show off recent work.
This design, bundled with our Standard active webhosting service, will continue to grow as K & N Exteriors does!
Femani Wellness e-commerce website
Arcus Communication Design recently launched a new business website for sexuality-resource provider FeMani Wellness.
Founded by a Madison, Wisconsin, woman-centered sexuality resource center and retail store, FeMani Wellness is a safe place to explore straightforward, science-based resources to aid in the path to healthy sexuality.
The built-in functionality of the WordPress content-management platform was a natural fit for this custom website project, and Arcus Design set about building a suitable site structure, including the resource library, and coordinating the graphic design and visual identity with FeMani’s other marketing materials. FeMani staff soon began populating the library with topical articles, and will continue to grow it over time.
Patrick Marsh Conservation Area outdoor interpretive signs
A series of outdoor interpretive trail signs for the Patrick Marsh conservation area, owned and managed by the Wisconsin DNR, Dane County, and Groundswell Conservancy.
Incorporating illustrations and artwork by students from nearby Patrick Marsh Middle School, and historical and modern photos and text from a variety of sources, I created the colorful and inviting placards. Using a variety of visually-engaging graphical representations of these ideas and messages, the interpretive panels educate visitors and help bring to life this important natural place.
Camp Westfalia identity
Camp Westfalia is “a virtual summer camp for those who love driving and traveling in Volkswagen campervans.”
The whimsical camper illustration was worked up from several early sketches and concepts, cleaned up and refined, colors selected, and finally pulled together into a cohesive logo reminiscent of National Park signs familiar to such travelers.
The same colors and a similar style were used in a series of several site navigational icons.
Spirit Fitness Logo
The Spirit Fitness logo is designed to suggest the characteristics of the company and its products. Utilizing a distinctive badge shape, like a shield or a coat of arms, to symbolize the history and heritage of the company.
This logo employs a stylized “S” with a secondary interpretation as a rising flame of personal growth and the passion of health and life.
Rendered in a metallic Silver to suggest the very steel of which Spirit Fitness products are made, this represents the solidity of a durable product and a dependable company. A deep Red was chosen to represent energy and power.
